BioCycle Ltd is an innovative company who have developed the idea of producing what is believed to be the worlds first 100% biodegradable tree shelter.

The company was established in April 2003 by husband and wife team, David and Adrianne Jones and is now internationally recognised as being at the forefront of technical advances in biodegradable products. 

BioCycle Ltd are proud winners of numerous awards including Green Champion for environmental best practice at the coveted Green Apple Awards.  Additionally, Director Adrianne Jones has been awarded the British Female Inventors & Innovators Award (BFIIN) Innovator of the year Award 2005.

BioCycle Ltd is an innovative company who are constantly researching and developing environmental solutions for the Horticultural and Forestry Industries. 

 

THE PRODUCTS

The two main products are the BioTube tree shelter and BugBar seedling cover. The BioTube and the BugBar are made from innovative materials, BioM8trix, which comprise of a combination of natural fibres and natural resins.

The uniqueness of the BioTube and BugBar's material, BioM8trix, is found in the degradation process which is 100% biodegradable.  With the growing global pressure on landfill sites, the BioTube and BugBar offer a much needed environmentally friendly alternative to plastic products currently available on the market. 

Extensive tests on the prototypes have been carried out by Pera in Melton Mowbray, one of Europe's leading research and development establishments, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Lammhult, Sweden and the Organic Waste Systems (OWS) in Belgium.
